Differential pressure gauges can be used to monitor liquid levels of cryogenic gases such as argon, oxygen, and natural gas. By taking a pressure reading at the base of the tank, and comparing it to a pressure reading from the top of the tank liquid level can be calculated. A standard pressure gauge can not be used because the tanks are already pressurized and comparing to atmosphere will produce a false reading.
